Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. The singer's career has taken her all over the world, from Broadway to European events and clubs, to even at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine is Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta however, her roots lie in Chester Pennsylvania. There she first began to develop a musical career singing and playing the piano in a church. The musical journey began for her in Atlanta at Spellman College. She was appointed as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) offered her a position as director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta during the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition through her performances on four consecutive days in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was invited to perform during President Obama's inaugural in 2009.
